Continued advances in digital and analog technologies present new challenges to the design of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs). As clock frequencies and data rates approach the X-Band region, digital designers are faced with considerations that were once only viewed as analog/RF concerns such as dielectric loss, skin effects, dispersion, and impedance matching. High dynamic range analog circuits can also present unique challenges concerning noise immunity and stability. The presentation covers PCB construction, PCB material selection, grounding, Signal Integrity (SI), and Power Integrity (PI), and is intended for analog, RF, EMC, and digital engineers.
