AWARENESS PROGRAM ON INNOVATION AND DESIGN THINKING

IEEE MVSB Student Branch conducted an Awareness Program on Innovation and Design Thinking” on 30^th January 2024 in the QEEE Room, EEE Dept, MVSREC in collaboration with IEEE MVSR PES Student Chapter, IIC, and EESA. The session started with the welcome speech by Ms B. Rajyalaxmi, Vice-chairperson, IEEEMVSR PES Student Chapter. She has given short notes on the importance of the topic.

Later, Mr. Y. Laxmi Narasimha Rao, Asst. Professor, IEEE MVSR PES Faculty Advisor has explained the benefits that would be getting by joining IEEE PES towards their career growth. Later on, the gathering was addressed by Dr. D. Hari Krishna IEEE MVSR SB counselor, Associate Professor, EEE Department. He explained the importance of IEEE. The benefits that would be obtained by joining as a member, towards the research work, and execution of innovation ideas would lead to an entrepreneur in due course of time. Mr. B. Rama Krishna, Assistant Professor addressed the gathering about EESA.

Later on, the session was handed over to the speaker of the session Dr. P.V.V. Rama Rao Professor, EEE Department, Ambassador IIC MVSREC. He addressed the session by explaining the importance of social media available and the importance of getting connected to LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.

He also advised the students to be part of social media which will help them to improve their career growth and also to enhance their innovation thinking. Various government schemes developed by the Ministry of Education through MSME would help students to become entrepreneurs in this process students have to develop a prototype model that is novel and innovative. Once the product is developed, the pros and cons of it have to be evaluated with the due modification that would be user-friendly and eco-friendly. Once the developed product is approved by MSME, it encourages funding for the product from manufacturing to marketing. How an entrepreneur provides employability to engineers was explained. Later he explained the importance of entrepreneurs in society, innovation, and design thinking. Announcement about the forthcoming event which is a poster presentation was informed with rules and regulations.

Concluding remarks were given by Mr. I. Narasimha Swamy, Asst. Professor and a token of appreciation was given by Dr. D. Hari Krishna. The event was successfully concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. N. Bharat Mohan, Asst. Professor EEE Dept, M.V.S.R Engineering College.
