This talk explores the critical concept of prompt engineering in Conversational AI. By carefully crafting and refining prompts, we enhance the performance and control of large language models (LLMs), allowing for more effective and contextually appropriate text generation. The talk covers the following topics: 1)Why prompt engineering is a required skill for Generative AI practitioners; 2) How to design and test effective prompts for different LLMs; 3) Advanced tools for prompt engineering, such as LangChain, AutoGPT, and BabyAG; 3) UIs for advanced prompt engineering: Flowise and Langflow; 4) Generative Assistants and the orchestration of multiple assistants. Note: As everything in Generative AI, including Prompt Engineering, is changing quickly, some parts of the presentation outline might change.

The Art of Prompt Engineering: the Effective Use of Large Language Models in Conversational AI

Biography:

Currently, I am a product manager at a high-tech start-up based in London, experimenting with Generative AI to create intelligent conversational agents. Some of the projects I have worked on previously include: 1) api.ai - a conversational platform acquired by Google in 2016 (now Dialogflow); 2) Speaktoit Voice Assistant - speaking 11 languages, with over 500,000 users; 3) Huawei Voice Assistant and Voice Assistant Platform - in the initiation stage Besides that, I created and lectured on a course on conversation design and worked on numerous smaller projects to create proof of concept prototypes and detailed WBS and proposals with the most innovative companies and start-ups, enhancing their experience of conversational interfaces. Marina worked as product manager for AI.api, which later was re-named Dialogflow and subsequently acquired by Google. She has a lot of experience in conversational AI and is currently working for a start-up in London called Generative Assistants. Her LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ashurkina/ I am currently co-authoring a book (with Mike McTear) to be published by Apress on new developments in conversational AI using large language models and advanced prompt engineering.
