Sgt. Mitchell will discuss Human Trafficking and the impact it has on our communities and businesses. He will discuss and identify warning signs of Human Trafficking and how each and every one of us can help combat this crisis. Slavery was abolished 150 years ago yet there are more people in slavery today than at any other time in our history.

Sgt Mike Mitchell
Biography:
Missouri state Highway Patrol Sergeant Mike Mitchell is a 31-year veteran of the Missouri State Patrol and is currently assigned to Troop I in Rolla, Missouri. Sgt. Mitchell is the public information and education officer for Troop I. Troop I serves the counties of Laclede, Pulaski, Phelps, and Crawford along Interstate 44 in addition to two more rural counties of Dent and Maries.
Sgt. Mitchell began his career in January 1993 and was assigned to Troop I where he worked the road in an enforcement capacity for 26 years. The last 5 years, Sgt. Mitchell has served Troop I as their Public Information and Education Officer. His primary duties include media relations and providing educational programs to businesses, civic groups and local schools. Educational programs include ‘active threat/shooter’, human trafficking, bank robbery prevention, and numerous topics related to driver safety and water safety.
