Welcome to the 2016 IEEE IoTAD jointly organized by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (India), Future Tech Lab (India), IEEE RAS, Bangalore chapter and IEEE Consumer Electronics Society, Future Directions Committee (USA). This is the fourth in a series of workshops organized by the IEEE CE Society Future Directions Group. The previous editions took place in Kuala Lumpur and Thiruvananthapuram and have attracted more than 150 participants all together. The series has a tradition of featuring eminent international experts from the IEEE CE Society (USA, Ireland), Cisco (India), Altiux Innovations (India), EURECOM (France), Oracle (France), Telecom Italia (Italy), QCRI (Qatar) and The Mitre Corporation (USA). The workshop is a unique platform for students, junior researchers, engineers, industry persons, software developers to understand, learn & exchange ideas in IoT domain. The event is designed to impart knowledge about rapid prototyping of IoT applications that can be deployed in several verticals including Smart Home and Smart Cities. The workshop will also provide opportunities to engage in knowledge transfer, discussion and networking among the participants and distinguished speakers. Among the IoT application prototypes developed by the participants, the best three will be awarded. The workshop will be hosted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Amrita University) in Bangalore, India during 5-7 August, 2016.
