Power and Energy Society Tunisian Gneral Meeting 5.0
The IEEE PES Tunisia General Meeting (PES TGM 5.0), Organized by IEEE PES ENET’Com SBC & IEEE PES Tunisia Section, has been devised with the intention of establishing a distinctive pathway into the realm of technology. This annual congress served as a platform for students, engineers, and industry experts to converge and delve into the power and energy sector. Focusing on the theme of Greenovation, this event explores the latest advancements in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and eco-friendly technologies. By means of informative presentations, networking opportunities, engaging discussions, and an exhilarating hackathon, participants had the chance to exchange ideas and collaborate, spreading a culture of knowledge sharing that will propel the technology toward a more sustainable future.
Day 1:
The first day of the event was a warm welcome for our participants, beginning with an Opening Ceremony that marked the start of the eagerly anticipated PES TGM 5.0. The day kicked off with an inspiring video introducing participants to the world of Power & Energy making them think green. Following this, representatives from each entity shared words of gratitude and welcomed our esteemed participants, while our partners introduced themselves and their organizations.
An industry session followed, led by esteemed speaker Aymen Tmar, focusing on Advanced Inspection Techniques for Risk-Based Management of Pressure Vessels and Pipelines. Additionally, two panel discussions were held: one with speaker Taha Abidi on the Integration of Renewable Energy using AI, and another IEEE panel discussion featuring Ala Chalghaf, Aziz Ben Hmidene, and Madiha Neifar from the IEEE Tunisia Section, providing an introduction to IEEE.
Consequently, The Technical Challenge Presentations were held allowing the Challengers teams, who showcased spectacular performances to present their innovative idea to the Jury.
Later in the night, a Coachella-themed Party provided a networking opportunity and a chance for participants to unwind and enjoy themselves.
Day 2:
The second day was dedicated to various Workshops. The morning sessions were two parallel workshops: one was a certified workshop about Distributed Renewable Energy and Storage Solutions, led by trainer Soulaymen Kammoun, and the other was a soft skills workshop about Building Bridges to Success, held by trainer Said Sabbeh.
The evening workshops were also two parallel sessions: one about Innovation in Solar Power Mobility led by trainer Khaled Hbaieb, and the other one was about Entrepreneurship held by trainer Ahmad Naffeti. Moreover, all the PES SBCs engaged in a Non-Technical challenge, presenting their activities and proposing arrangements for future PES TGM events.
The highlight of the second night was a Classy Night Party, featuring congratulations to the Student Branches for their contributions during the workshops, technical and non-technical challenges. Mohamed Karim Mednini conducted an IEEE Day sequence, sharing news and details about the upcoming IEEE Day. The evening also included announcements for the PES Tunisia Section Awards, a Talent Show, and the announcement of the Best PES Student Branch Chapter award. The night concluded with team-building activities.
Day 3:
The third day culminated in a Closing Ceremony, where congratulations were extended to the winners of the previous night’s awards, the announcement of the Technical Challenge winning team, the announcement of the Non-Technical Challenge finalists, and voting for the finalists followed by the reveal of the winner. The ceremony concluded with closing remarks expressing gratitude to the organizing committee of PES TGM 5.0.
