Nikita Tiwari - Senior AI Enabling Engineer

Biography:

Nikita Tiwari is a Senior AI Enabling Engineer in Intel's Client Computing group, dedicated to enhancing the OEM PC ecosystem and delivering unparalleled video-collaboration experiences to personal computers. This innovation ensures seamless connectivity wherever you go. Nikita's diverse expertise covers silicon processor debug, validation, artificial intelligence (AI), and automotive image processing unit (IPU). Her contributions to AI have earned her a patent, and she has been featured in numerous internal and external publications.

With a Master's in ECE from Portland State University, Nikita, as a first-generation university graduate, is passionate about paying it forward. Through volunteerism, she aspires to be a role model for the next generation in pursuing STEM fields, a commitment recognized by the 2020 Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Distinguished New Engineer Award. Currently, she serves as a board advisor for the global Women at Intel Network (WIN) X-site, holds leadership roles within SWE both locally and globally, Michigan Council of Women in Technology and TechWomen Mentoring Program. Nikita is a chair for the SWE@Intel committee, showcasing her dedication to empowering women in engineering.

Not confined to Intel, Nikita is actively involved in IEEE, where she holds the esteemed position of Senior Member. Additionally, she contributes to the Ethics/Bias criteria review standards group, demonstrating her commitment to ethical considerations in technology. Nikita is a regular reviewer and presenter at various industry conferences, exhibiting her expertise in the field.

Beyond her professional achievements, Nikita values family time. Her family of 3 enjoys activities like hiking and running, providing a refreshing balance to her dynamic professional life.

Neethu Elizabeth Simon - Senior Software Engineer

Biography:

Neethu Elizabeth Simon is a Senior Software Engineer in the Network & Edge Group at Intel Corporation, with vast industrial experience in building smart end to end Machine Learning solutions. She is currently focused on building containerized microservices for computer vision-based AI/ML solutions in retail and biopharma/healthcare. At Intel, Neethu’s work significantly impacts proliferation of Intel technologies and accelerates revenue streams.

Neethu holds a Master’s in Computer Science from Arizona State University. As a Senior IEEE member she demonstrates her proficiency by presenting at multiple global analytics and software professional conferences including Open-Source Summit(OSS), Grace Hopper(GHC), Society of Women Engineers(SWE), IEEE etc. and is often invited to share her expertise with college students. She also shares her technical knowledge by leading & reviewing technical conferences, patent filings and book publications. She is a guest speaker and program mentor for the Social Innovation Startup Lab (SISL) at Arizona State University.

Neethu is passionate about promoting girls in STEM, women in technology, Diversity and Inclusion(D&I). Apart from her day job, Neethu leads the global Technical Women at Intel (TWIN) community, aligned with Intel’s RISE goals to accelerate progress in increasing women representation in technical positions. She has also been leading the Intel India-AZ Employee Resource Group (ERG) for several years, organizing multiple cultural, networking, STEM volunteering and career development events.  Outside work, Neethu has led and organized several STEM focused events for school girls and is an active member of the IEEE Women in Engineering(WIE), Phoenix section and Society of Women Engineers(SWE), contributing at both society level and with the Phoenix chapter.

Neethu is the recipient of 2023-Women Who Code – Applaud Her Award for achieving excellence, innovation in industry and showing leadership and the 2020 Society of Women Engineers Distinguished New Engineer Award for being a powerful technical contributor and advocate for STEM education. She lives with her husband and 2y daughter in Chandler, AZ and likes to be active outdoors. She is part of the Intel and club crew Dragon Boat teams in AZ winning multiple medals at national & international competitions.

Joyce Weiner - Principal Engineer

Biography:

Joyce Weiner is a Principal Engineer at Intel Corporation. She uses data to improve quality and increase efficiency. Joyce has successfully led projects that leverage AI to assist system designers, to strengthen product quality, and to boost efficiency. With expertise in natural language processing, Joyce and her team have advanced text processing through the development of text cleaning, key phrase extraction, and clustering using machine learning and transformer models. Most recently she has been applying generative AI to support debug engineers.

Joyce has over 25 years of industry experience in client computing, fab, and assembly /test manufacturing. She has a BS in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an MS in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona. She is a lean six sigma black belt.

Joyce and her husband live near Chandler, Arizona. She wrote her first book “Why AI/Data Science Projects Fail: How to Avoid Project Pitfalls” in 2021. A second book, on XGBoost, is in the works. In addition to writing, Joyce enjoys running 5K races, calligraphy, and reading.

Anil Kumar - Principal Engineer (Introducer & Moderator)

Biography:

Anil Kumar is a Principal Engineer at Intel Corporation. As a System Architect in the Client Computing Group, he works with Intel’s partners to unlock people’s potential by bringing computing devices to market, allowing them to ​​​​​​​focus, create and connect in ways that matter most to them. Before this role, Anil was responsible for the Connectivity Platform Architecture in the Internet of Things Group (IOTG). In IOTG, he successfully drove platform and chip-level integration of several critical connectivity and communication technologies, resulting in a broad set of IoT applications across different vertical markets.

Anil joined Intel in 2007 as a design engineer in the Digital Home Group. He served as Platform Architect for several Intel Architecture-based Media Processors for TV and Set Top Box applications. As the chief architect in Intel Media Group, Anil led several designs that resulted in award-winning consumer electronic device designs at CES (Consumer Electronics Show). The world’s first Google TV devices are based on reference designs created by Anil.

Before joining Intel, Anil held design engineering positions at multinational companies such as Fujitsu & Alcatel. Anil’s passion and purpose is driven by taking designs from concept to production.

Anil is a co-author of two books, Demystifying Internet of Things Security (Apress 2019) and Connecting the Internet of Things: IoT Connectivity Standards and Solutions (2023).
