This webinar discusses the renewable energy potential for harvesting sustainable energy generated globally, the numerous issues involved in harnessing renewable energy and clearly articulates a road map to enable Nigeria tap into this huge potential. There is evidence of global energy deficit and Africa has never been able to provide sustainable power of about Seventy percent (70 %) of the Nigerian population which do not have access to electricity. There are untapped renewable energy sources in Nigeria such as Wind power, solar, Biomass, Geothermal.

The challenges persist which includes universal access, decarbonization, political initiative for energy transition, derisking and promoting private sector investments, promoting access to energy, strengthening and modernizing the grid, supporting systems innovation.

The specified challenges can be a potential to Nigeria by creating a business model which has private capital, public good towards a more developed power sector. Creating an enabling environment where power sector policies, Legislation, Regulatory frameworks are flexible and commercially viable/secure ownership rights.

There is a clarion call on Nigerian to arise and build the Nation harvesting and harnessing the free natural renewable energies for 24/7 power sustainability in Africa through Individuals, Communities, States, Local and foreign Investors to build, run and handover.
