We have designed Sydney Water's Internet of Things (IoT) program to enable the vision of "Getting ahead of the Issue," which means strengthening our ability to detect developing problems, predict service faults, and rectify their causes proactively. Typical issues we address in our IoT trials so far are wastewater surcharges, water main leaks/breaks and bill shock of customers.

In the presentation, I will explain the rationale behind the IoT trials and demonstrate some tested technologies, such as sewer blockage detection and digital meters. I will talk about the technology deployed, advanced data analytics, early wins and discuss some lessons learned and the next steps.
