Biography:

MARC PERRON (M’01–SM’08) was born in Chicoutimi (Québec), Canada in 1978. He received the B. Ing and M. Sc.A. degrees in electrical engineering from Université de Sherbrooke in 2001 and 2004 and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Université Laval in 2008. Since 2006, he has worked as a business consultant in commercialization of technologies coming from research institutions in the field of electronics like EV charging stations, medical devices, industrial lasers, consumer products and many others. Dr. Perron is a Member of Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec since 2001 and has been involved with IEEE Industrial Electronics Society since 2008 as a member of the Electronic System-on-Chip technical committee, the Industry Activity Committee and as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Industrial Electronics Technology Transfer News (IETTN) publication from 2016 to 2020. He is now a member of the IEEE Industry Engagement Committee and Chair of IEEE Quebec City Section (Region 7).
