Anne-Pascale Richardson of AquaAction
Biography:
Anne-Pascale Richardson is AquaAction's Program Director for the AquaHacking Challenge in North America. Driven by strong environmental and societal values, Anne-Pascale is a microbiologist (MSc) and biologist (PhD) by training, with extensive experience in managing impact projects. With a passion for fostering innovation and sustainability, Anne-Pascale brings experience in managing cross- sector initiatives and facilitating multi-stakeholder collaborative processes. Through the programming she leads, Anne-Pascale has played a pivotal role in launching several start-ups founded by engineers and scientists in the water sector. Her expertise in integrated project management ensures the longevity and success of initiatives aimed at addressing environmental challenges. As an advocate for the entrepreneurial spirit and innovative solutions, Anne-Pascale emphasizes the critical role of inland waters in the blue economy, especially amidst the ongoing climate crisis.
Purmehdi of Ericsson Global Artificial Intelligence Accelerator
Biography:
Hakimeh is a project lead and senior data scientist at Ericsson Global Artificial Intelligence Accelerator, where leads innovative AI/ML solutions for future wireless communication networks. She received her Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada. After completing a postdoc in AI and image processing at the Radiology Department, University of Alberta, she co-founded Corowave, a start-up to develop resilient to movement, non-contact and continuous vital signs monitoring platform and sensors solution, leveraging radiofrequency technology and machine learning. Before joining Ericsson, she was with Microsoft Research (MSR) as a research engineer, and collaborated on developments of TextWorld project, which is a testbed for reinforcement learning research projects. Her research focus is basically on the intersection of wireless communication (5G and beyond including resource management and edge computing), AI solutions (such as LLMs, GenAI, online learning, federated learning, reinforcement learning, deep learning), optimization, and biotech.
