Sarah Cash of Georgia Power Company

Biography:

 Sarah Cash is the Land Acquisition Manager at Georgia Power Company. In this role, she provides strategic oversight to the acquisition of property rights needed to construct, operate, and maintain the company’s utility infrastructure.

Sarah began her career with Georgia Power in 2012. For five years, she worked as an attorney in the Legal Department and provided strategic legal counsel to a broad range of business partners. Her next position was assistant corporate secretary at Southern Company, where she helped coordinate and execute board meetings and maintained corporate governance documents for five years. Before joining the Southern system, Sarah worked as an associate with Arnall Golden Gregory, LLP, where she represented sellers, purchasers, lenders, and borrowers in various commercial real estate transactions.

Sarah currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of The Kindezi Schools, a community of public charter schools in Atlanta. She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of HOPE Atlanta, an organization that fights hunger and homelessness in and around Atlanta.

Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in English and psychology from Duke University and her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. She lives in Southwest Atlanta with her husband and their four children.

Dr. Soheyla Amirian of University of Georgia

Biography:

Dr. Soheyla Amirian is currently a faculty fellow at the Institute for Artificial Intelligence and a faculty lecturer at the School of Computing, University of Georgia, where she is leading the Applied Machine Intelligence Initiatives & Education (AMIIE) Laboratory, working with a multidisciplinary team of faculty members, students, and investigators to design, build, validate, and deploy artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms in different real-world settings, such as public health, imaging informatics, and AI-powered education. Dr. Amirian obtained her BSc, MSc, and PhD all in Computer Science, with a focus on AI and deep learning computer vision. Dr. Soheyla Amirian is the 2019 International Conference on Computational Science and Computational Intelligence CSCI Outstanding Achievement awardee, the 2021 UGA Outstanding Teaching Assistant, the NVIDIA GPU awardee, the 2020 and 2022 ACM Richard TAPIA Conference Scholarship awardee, and she was named a finalist of the 2020 NCWIT (National Center for Women and Information Technology) Collegiate Award. Of late, she has authored 25+ peer-reviewed publications and has organized several conferences and tutorials on computational intelligence (e.g., ISVC, IEEE ICHI), serving as a Program Committee member at IEEE ICHI and Co-Chair of Research Tracks at the World Congress in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Applied Computing (CSCE) plus the International Conference on Computational Science & Computational Intelligence (CSCI). Very recently, she has been selected as the winner of the IEEE Atlanta Section Outstanding Educator Award.


Calandria Lee of Georgia Power

Calandria Lee is manager of Talent Management for Georgia Power Company.  The company is the largest subsidiary of Southern Company, a leading electric and gas utility and #20 on DiversityInc’s list of Top Employers for Diversity.    In this role, Calandria’s team helps Georgia Power drive leadership readiness, employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

Since joining Georgia Power in 2008, Calandria has worked in human resources as a HR Business Partner and Talent Management Consultant.  Prior to joining Georgia Power, Calandria worked in the non-profit, religious, and governmental sectors. 

In the community, Calandria is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and serves on the board of directors for Partners in Change.

Calandria holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA, and a master’s degree in public administration from Georgia State University. 

She and her husband Anthony, live in Lithonia and have two adult children, Taylor, and River.

Dianna King

Biography:

Dianna King is currently a project manager and a former electrical/software engineer at GTRI. She completed her Electrical Engineering bachelor's degree in 2019 at GA Tech and is currently back at GA Tech to pursue her MBA. When she is not working on her MBA or at GTRI, you can find her working on her food business that helps people suffering from dietary restrictions eat unrestricted without sacrificing quality or taste. She enjoys problem solving, community building, learning new skills, and paying it forward.
