Biography:

Dr. Milorad Papic, Life Fellow IEEE, is a full-time independent consultant in the fields of power systems planning and reliability. After receiving his M.Sc. degree from Zagreb University and D.Sc. degree from Sarajevo University, Milorad worked in the System Planning department at Idaho Power for 25 years, until his retirement in April 2020. Prior to arriving at Idaho Power in 1996, Dr. Papic held an Associate Professor position at Sarajevo University; he is also an Adjunct Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Idaho. His areas of expertise include power system planning, reliability modeling and evaluation of power systems, risk assessment in electric power systems, cascading, and resilience. To date, he has published more than 100 technical papers in Refereed Journals and Conference Proceedings in the above-mentioned areas. He is recipient of the 2020 IEEE-PES Roy Billinton Power System Reliability Award and the 2022 Distinguished Individual Service Award. Milorad is currently serving as a PES Region 6 Representative. Milorad has been a speaker, invited presenter, and panelist at numerous IEEE PES conferences and panels, presenting on a diverse range of topics in reliability and cascading in power systems.

Specialties: Extensive experience in the areas of Reliability, Planning, and Cascading in electric power systems. Actively participate in activities/projects in areas of probabilistic planning, cascading and resilience of bulk power systems.

Biography:

Branislav Djokić (IEEE M’90-SM’97) received Dipl.Ing. degrees in Power Systems Engineering in 1981, in Electronics in 1984, M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1988 and 1993, respectively, from the University of Belgrade, Serbia. From 1982-1990, he was with R&D Institute Mihajlo Pupin, Belgrade. From 1990-1994 he was a Staff Member of the School of Electrical Engineering, Belgrade University. In 1994 he joined the Institute for National Measurement Standards, National Research Council of Canada. Dr. Djokić is a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario. He is IEEE PES Emerging Technologies Coordinating Committee Vice-Chair, IEEE Canada Other-Societies Committee Chair, IEEE Ottawa Section Educational Activities Chair and past Section Chair. In 2007, he received IEEE Regional Activities Board (RAB) Award for leadership in support of IEEE Ottawa Section. At NCSLI 2008, he received the best paper award in the international track for his paper on the calibration of Rogowski coils. His area of expertise is: new instrumentation and measurement methods for both highest-accuracy and industrial applications for AC electrical power, energy, high voltage, and high current, including calibration of Rogowski coils, which are widely used for measurements of large and transient
