Enhancing Multicast-Broadcast Traffic Efficiency in 5GS: A Collaborative RAN Approach
An increase in real-time and OTT content consumption over cellular networks has driven the need for innovation to provide improved QoE to cellular subscribers. With the rising OTT content consumption over the cellular network, the load on the cellular network has been increasing. Considering the changing bandwidth consumption patterns, this paper describes how terrestrial broadcast and cellular technologies can complement each other. This talk would cover an integrated mobile broadband broadcast solution that enables data offload from a 3GPP cellular network to a non-3GPP broadcast network and vice-versa.

Biography:
Mr. Anindya Saha is VP of Wireless (CTO Office) at Tejas Networks, with approximately 28 years of experience. He is an expert on Software Defined Radios, leading the Baseband and RF system design for 5G Products. In his earlier role as CTO at SaankhyaLabs (a wireless semiconductor startup acquired by Tejas Networks), he led the design and development of the Baseband and RF subsystems for Saankhya’s products in wireless communication, spanning from Broadcast Receivers, Satellite IoT modems, and White-Space broadband modems.
