2023 IEEE SIGNAL PROCESSING SEASONAL SCHOOL 

The Seasonal School is a training program “of excellence”, which is strongly interdisciplinary, and focused on the signal processing applications, Hands-on Arduino programming, Machine Vision and Applications in Photonics. The event is open to Pr-University students, University students, PhD students, academia, professionals, Industry and government.

The Seasonal School will be an opportunity for meetings and exchanges of ideas as well a membership development for students with interests in signal processing, photonics and its applications. This will be a platform where academia, industry meets the students and participants will be able to learn Digital Signal processing technologies and its applications, innovative thinking and other emerging technologies.

This four days’ event is looking at hosting IEEE members and non-member (Students, Professionals, Academia, Industry and Government) a total of about 80 participants at Busitema University main campus in Busia. The event will be packed with two international distinguished lectures both from academia/industry as well with a couple of local speakers. The event outcome will be students showcasing of their innovative in signal processing and IEEE Photonics projects. There will be networking, learning, sharing and collaboration. And this will be a fertile ground for formation of IEEE Photonics students chapter in Busitema University and IEEE Uganda Signal Processing Society Chapter and IEEE membership drive

Biography:

Danilo P. Mandic (F) is a professor in signal processing with Imperial College London, UK, and has been working in the areas of machine intelligence, statistical signal processing, big data, learning on graphs, and bioengineering.

He is a Fellow of the IEEE and a current President of the International Neural Networks Society (INNS). Dr. Mandic is a Director of the Financial Machine Intelligence Lab at Imperial College.

Biography:

Mr. Ezabo Baron is an impact driven innovator with strong interest in computer science, product development, budgeting and financial management, marketing and branding, entrepreneurship and new venture planning, strategic decision making, effective communication, negotiation and project management with additional interest in robotics and astronomy.
