Introduction
The FDP on “Role of Green Energy towards Sustainable Smart Cities” aims to 
enable the participants to provide cutting-edge knowledge towards state of he art practices in the domain of smart cities. 

  • The sessions of the faculty development program will be conducted by eminent professors of top NIRF-ranked institutes, industrial experts, and eminent resource persons from government-driven organizations. By the end of the program, will be adept at 
    integrating green energy solutions into their teaching, research, and consultancy 
    roles.
    Sessions Conducted:
  • Inaugural Ceremony: The FDP commenced with an inaugural ceremony featuring esteemed speakers from academia and industry, setting the tone for the subsequent sessions.
  • Fundamentals of Sustainable Smart Cities: This session provided an overview of the concept of smart cities and the imperative of sustainability in urban development.
  • Green Energy Technologies: Various green energy technologies such as solar, 
    wind, and hydroelectric power were discussed in-depth, emphasizing their 
    applicability and benefits in urban settings.
  • Policy and Regulation: Experts delved into the regulatory frameworks and policies 
    facilitating the adoption of green energy solutions in smart cities.
  • Case Studies and Best Practices:
    Real-world case studies were presented to illustrate successful implementations 
    of green energy initiatives in different urban contexts.
  • Interactive Workshops: Participants engaged in interactive workshops, fostering 
    collaboration and problem-solving around integrating green energy concepts into 
    teaching and research.

Objectives & Expected Outcomes of the FDP


The key objectives of FDP include the following.
➢ To enhance the knowledge of faculty members towards the understanding 
of emerging concepts of green energy technologies and their applications 
towards sustainable smart cities. 
➢ Enable the faculty members to make the students aware of the latest 
advancements in the application of green energy in a sustainable smart 
city. 
➢ To bridge the gap between academia and industry which enables a 
seamless transition for students from education to industry. 
➢ To encourage the faculty members to initiate research activities focused on 
green energy solutions for sustainable smart cities and the generation of 
practical solutions for urban sustainability.
The FDP aims to achieve the following outcomes.
➢ Enable the faculty members to acquire a deeper understanding of green 
energy technologies and their applications in smart cities.
➢ Enable the faculty members to deliver more effective and engaging lectures 
to students. 
➢ The knowledge disseminated by the faculty members to the students with 
the inputs of the FDP program will make the students highly employable. 
➢ The faculty members can become successful contributors to the ongoing 
development of sustainable smart cities in collaboration with various 
sectors.


conclusion
In conclusion, the 5-day Online Faculty Development Program on the Role of 
Green Energy Towards Sustainable Smart Cities organized by IEEE JSSATE Noida 
Student Branch was a resounding success, fostering enlightenment, collaboration, 
and inspiration among participants. It is hoped that the seeds sown during this 
program will blossom into transformative actions towards building resilient, 
inclusive, and sustainable urban habitats for future generation
