AI in Medicine
Welcome to Engineering Idol 2024! Engineers need to understand physical phenomena, and the application of technical concepts, but they also have a responsibility for the conclusions they make to shape the decisions that impact the world around us. Every year we seek to find current, topical challenges that will help to demonstrate some aspect of the practice of Engineering to help you gain a better understanding of what it means to be a Professional Engineer.
In recent years, the fusion of artificial intelligence (AI) and healthcare has ushered in a new era of medical innovation in patient care. Among the most promising and transformative areas of this intersection is the application of artificial intelligence (AI), a superset of machine learning that focuses on managing the vast amounts of data now being generated from electronic record keeping. Artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms have the potential to revolutionize how healthcare professionals diagnose, treat, and manage diseases, and how researchers explore new frontiers in biomedical science. This new field has the potential to yield new methods and techniques in healthcare that can revolutionize the level of care that can be delivered to patients.
The "AI in Medicine" design challenge aims to address these challenges and leverage the opportunities within the domain. Participants are encouraged to propose innovative solutions, applications, or research projects that harness AI's potential to transform healthcare. The challenge seeks to engage a diverse range of participants, including data scientists, AI developers, medical professionals, and bioinformaticians, to collaboratively drive the evolution of healthcare.
