The BYTES Code Debugging Competition in C was an exhilarating event organized by IEEE SB GECI in collaboration with the CSE Association. Held on March 25, 2024, at the CS/IT BLOCK-C401, the competition aimed to provide participants with a platform to showcase their debugging power in the C programming language.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from 26 students from various departments.Participants had to fix bugs in challenging code snippets within a set time limit. A prize pool of Rs. 500 boosted excitement and encouraged participants to give their best in solving the coding challenges.

Winners:

  1. 1st Place: Hathim Ali (S2 CSE)
  2. 2nd Place: Adithyan A (S4 CSE)
  3. 3rd Place: Sargaprasad R (S4 IT)

The BYTES Code Debugging Competition in C was a resounding success, showcasing the talent and enthusiasm of participants in the field of programming and debugging. Through engaging challenges and collaborative learning opportunities, the event contributed to the enrichment of participants' skills and knowledge in C programming. As the competition concluded, participants left with valuable experiences and memories, further fueling their passion for coding and problem-solving. The program ended by 5:30 PM.

1.Welcome and Introduction

  •   Welcome address by the event coordinator Sangeeth Sagaran. 
  •   Brief introduction about the competition.

2.First Round: Preliminary Debugging Challenge

  • 5 participants compete in the preliminary round
  • Each participant is given a set of code snippets to debug within a time limit

3.Break 

  • Short break for participants and organizers.

4.Final Round: Championship

  • Finalists compete in the championship round
  • Participants are presented with more challenging code snippets to debug
  • Finalists showcase their advanced debugging skills and problem-solving abilities

5.Prize Distribution

  • Announcement of competition winners
  • Distribution of prizes to winners of both rounds

6.Closing Remarks

  • Thanking participants,coodinators and organizing team.
