KAUST Open House Event
IEEE KAU SB - Female members KAUST open house visiting.
On the 30th of November 2023, The IEEE members in King Abdulaziz University of the female branch had the fantastic opportunity of attending the open house event in King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. The following events took place:
1. An introduction to KAUST, agenda for the day, and the programs they offer for undergraduate students.
2. A tour around the campus, which included the core labs, five in particular for this event:
a. The Bioscience Core Lab.
b. The Visualization Core Lab.
c. The Analytical Chemistry Core Lab.
d. The Supercomputing Core Lab (which we will expound on more later).
e. The Imaging and Charecterization Core Lab.
3. A Lunchbreak.
4. A photo shoot with all who attended the event, including the organizers and lecturers, for documentation.
5. A lecture about Artificial Intelligence, presented by some of their esteemed lecturers.
6. Closing of the event.
One of the most memorable experiences the members of IEEE had was the visit to the supercomputing core lab, in which we visited and learned about the supercomputer Shaheen and Shaheen 2, a tour guided by Rafael Griman.
This open house event was a once in a lifetime opportunity for the members, and the day ended with each member’s passion to learn and work harder burning brighter.
