IEEE SSCS Kerala Chapter organized 'Sreedeepam’, a Women's Day event aimed at empowering and celebrating the spirit of women through an LED-making workshop for the Kudumbashree unit members at CET, Trivandrum.

The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Savier J S, Principal of CET, setting a tone of enthusiasm and empowerment. Dr. Ayoob Khan, Vice Chair, SSCS Kerala Chapter, also delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of women's empowerment and skill development initiatives. Following the inaugural session, a brief yet insightful talk on energy conservation was delivered by Gokul R, shedding light on the significance of sustainable practices in our daily lives.

The participants demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and eagerness to learn throughout the event, by actively engaged in the discussions, asking insightful questions and seeking clarification on various topics. Prior to commencing the workshop, a session by Sreekkutty O U, Former IEDC State Head, Kerala Startup Mission, on startup ideas was conducted, which further fuelled the participants' curiosity and interest.

The participants eagerly engaged in crafting their own LEDs during the workshop, with the assistance of dedicated volunteers. The active participation of all attendees, coupled with the support of student volunteers from CET, contributed to the success of the workshop. The participants' feedback was overwhelmingly positive, reflecting their satisfaction with the event's organization and the learning opportunities provided. At the end of the workshop, participants expressed interest in procuring materials for LEDs and inquired about the process. We provided them with details and encouraged them to reach out for further assistance. Their enthusiasm and active involvement throughout the workshop underscored the success of "Sreedeepam" in achieving its objectives of empowerment and skill enhancement.
