50th edition of IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (ICASSP 2025), which will take place in Hyderabad, India from April 06 to April 11, 2025. To promote the ICASSP 2025 conference, a series of satellite events are planned from April 2024 to April 2025 by all the 12 IEEE Signal Processing Society Chapters across India.
One such event is planned with IEEE VNRVJIET SB in association with IEEE SPS Hyderabad & Bangalore Sections are organising a session on pathways to publication: A roadmap for publishing high-quality research papers.
Abstract: Pathways to Publication: A Roadmap for Publishing High-Quality Research Papers.
Often researchers have difficulty in drafting good technical paper and identifying an appropriate journals to publish their research paper. This talk gives an overview of contents of a technical paper and required tools and techniques to write paper more easily so that it gets published in a good journal. At the end of the talk and demo, attendees will be able to identify appropriate journal to publish and also differentiate between predatory and good referred journals to publish their research. The talk will cover the following
1. Anatomy of the manuscript.
2. Identifying SCIE/Wos and Scopus journals and avoiding predatory journals
3. Demo of tools for research
4. Journal and researcher metrics tools for profile building
Speaker : Dr. Abhishek Appaji is a well known expert in the field of Biomedical Engineering and Computational neurosciences, with a distinguished career in academia. Currently, he serves as the Head R&D and Associate Professor at B.M.S. College of Engineering, where he spearheads cutting-edge research initiatives. He is nurturing Entrepreneurs as Executive Director of BIG Foundation, a section 8 Company in Bengaluru. He also brings his valuable expertise to Maastricht University as a Guest Faculty. Dr. Appaji's educational background is equally impressive. He holds a Ph.D. in Mental Health and Neurosciences from Maastricht University, a testament to his deep understanding of the brain and its complexities leading to Best Thesis Award. His prior academic achievements include a Bachelor of Engineering in Medical Electronics with University Rank from BMSCE, a Masters of Technology in Information Technology, and a Masters of Engineering (M.E) in Bioinformatics, showcasing his well-rounded knowledge in engineering and technology fields. Beyond his academic pursuits, Dr. Appaji actively contributes to the professional engineering community. He holds prestigious positions within the IEEE Bangalore Section, including Treasurer, Chair of the IEEE SPS Bangalore Chapter, and Vice Chair of the IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Chapter. His dedication extends to the IEEE PES Bangalore Chapter as an Executive Committee Member and the IEEE EMB BMSCE Chapter as an Advisor. He has contributed to various notable conferences and been speaker for more than 150 events globally. Dr. Appaji's remarkable accomplishments are further underscored by the numerous awards he has received. These accolades include the IEEE International Best Paper Award in Malaysia, MGH CamTech Jugadathon Awards, Best Nodal Coordinator award, Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award, Winner of Class 5 Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, and IEEE MGA Young Professional Achievement Award, R10 YP achievement award, DST Inspire Award, IEEE CS Chief of Disruption Award, IEEE SPS Bangalore Outstanding Award, IUCEE TLC Award, etc. In summary, Dr. Abhishek Appaji is a remarkable individual who exemplifies academic excellence, professional leadership, and a deep commitment to advancing the field of Biomedical Engineering.
