CYBERSECURITY WEBINAR

The JUIT Student Branch of IEEE IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE)  inaugurated a webinar, centred around cybersecurity, providing a compelling exploration into the dynamic landscape of digital security, with a special focus on women's contributions and challenges within the field. Beginning with a comprehensive overview, the webinar illuminated the current complexity of cybersecurity threats and stressed the imperative for continuous learning and adaptability in the swiftly evolving environment.

The webinar's centrepiece addressed the unique challenges faced by women in cybersecurity, from gender disparities to biases. This segment not only shed light on the obstacles but also shared success stories and opportunities, aiming to inspire and empower the audience to overcome these challenges.

A pivotal aspect of the webinar emphasised the significance of skill development and continuous training in the realm of cybersecurity. The speaker provided valuable insights into various resources and programs tailored for women, offering a roadmap to enhance technical skills, stay abreast of industry trends, and pursue certifications. 

The discussion then delved into the evolving role of women in cybersecurity, acknowledging that it encompasses not only technical expertise but also leadership, policy-making, and advocacy. The speaker encourages active participation, urging women to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cybersecurity.

As a unique and engaging conclusion to the webinar, a surprise quiz on cybersecurity was administered. Participants were challenged with questions spanning basic concepts to current industry trends, aiming to reinforce key takeaways and encourage active participation. This component added an enjoyable and interactive dimension to the learning experience.

In conclusion, the IEEE WIE Cybersecurity Webinar emerged as an enriching and empowering event. It not only provided valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities for women in cybersecurity but also successfully fostered awareness, a sense of community, and offered practical advice for women aspiring to thrive in this critical field. The surprise quiz served as a fun and effective means to reinforce the importance of cybersecurity knowledge in today's digital age.

• 22 years of comprehensive experience in Offshore Centre Setup, Vendor Management, Project / Program Management, Delivery Management, Global Application Development, Account Management, Business Planning and Platform Operations, Infrastructure Management, IT Governance.
