Mr Tan Teck Lee of Singapore Institute of Power and Gas

Biography:

Mr. Tan has more than 30 years of experience in the power and energy industry and is a registered Professional Electrical Engineer in Singapore. He has conducted training and consultancy in China, India, South Africa and the Middle East. His experience includes the site installation and commissioning of power transmission network equipment, transmission projects management, risk management, business continuity management, power quality investigations, impact analysis of voltage dips and mitigation solutions applications as well as power systems network studies. In recognition for his outstanding professional and leadership contributions to the power engineering profession, Teck Lee was awarded the “IEEE Power and Energy Society Outstanding Engineer Award” from “United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland (UKRI) Chapter” in 2000 and from “Singapore Chapter” in 2009. 

Professor Dipti Srinivasan of National University of Singapore

Biography:

Ms. Dipti is a Professor in the Dept. of Electrical & Computer Engineering, NUS, where she also heads the Centre for Green Energy Management & Smart Grid (GEMS). Her recent research projects are in the broad areas of optimization and control, wind and solar power prediction, electricity price prediction, deep learning, and development of multi-agent systems for system operation and control. She has secured over S$20 Million in external funding for research projects in these areas.  Her current research focuses on the development of novel computational intelligence-based models and methodologies to aid the integration of the new Smart Grid technologies into the existing infrastructure so that power grid can effectively utilize pervasive renewable energy generation and demand-side management programs, while accommodating stochastic load demand. She has authored more than 400 publications which have been highly cited.

Prof. Dipti is a Fellow of IEEE, and was awarded the IEEE PES Outstanding Engineer award in 2010. She is currently serving as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, IEEE Transaction on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, and IEEE Computational Intelligence magazine.


Mr Lee Wai Meng of ON Engineers Pte Ltd

Biography:

Mr. Lee graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1987 with a degree in electrical engineering and one of the few with a 400kV switching license from the Energy Market Authority of Singapore. He has 8 years of working experience at Chevron as an electrical engineer for project and maintenance work. In 1996, he joined an electrical consultancy company, JMPang & Seah Pte Ltd. He is currently the Managing Director of ON Engineers Pte Ltd, who are power engineers into asset sensing and analytic for the power industry.
