Annual $1.2B R&D Funding opportunities of DoD SBIR/STTR Programs
The Department of Defense (DoD) invests $1.2B in research and development through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and the Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs. These DoD set-aside programs stimulate cooperative technological innovation by investing in small business and university partners.to address Warfighter needs. In FY15, DoD solicited more than 600 topics that yielded roughly 10,000 Phase I proposals and 1,500 Phase I awards. One third of the applicants were new to the program and have less than nine employees. This presentation aims to engage and encourage IEEE innovators with an insider’s perspective on the DoD SBIR/STTR opportunities, with a specific focus on the Army’s STTR program.
