Oluwadara Oluwalana
Electric Mobility Innovation im Nigeria: The Place of Student Engineers
Biography:
Engr. Dara Oluwalana is a COREN registered Information and Communications Engineer, Entrepreneur, Consultant, Artist and Tutor with over fourteen (14) years plus post-graduation experience. Engr. Dara has several certifications across fields of ICT, Project management and business. Amongst several other certifications, he is a trained and certified Autodesk Digital Manufacturing Expert, PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner Project Manager and SCRUM Master Agile Project Manager.
He is the Founder/CEO of Information and Telecommunications Engineering Services Limited (ITESL) and Digital Fabrication Nigeria (DFN). He also founded ITESL FabLab, a high-tech workshop for computer-based innovation, design and fabrication. ITESL Fab Lab began as a result of a grant facilitated through AVDD (Aso Villa Demo Day), a presidential national technological innovation competition, Ministry of Trade, investment & industries and co-sponsored by World Bank (via GEM project).
Engr. Dara is a committed member of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), who have served in several positions in the branch, divisional and both branch and national committee levels including in the capacity as Technical Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Treasurer and General Secretary of NSE Maitama Branch. He also immediate Past National General Secretary and currently National Deputy Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of ICT Engineers (NIICTE).
Engr Dara as young engineer is very passionate about exploring ICT and other digital manufacturing/fabrication technologies that can be leveraged on, to make Nigeria an ICT hardware producing and innovative nation on a continental and global stage
Allen Akhaumere
Advancing Electric Vehicle Adoption in Africa(or Nigeria): Challenges, Prospects, and Opportunities
Biography:
Allen Akhaumere is an AI engineer and entrepreneur who has founded and co-founded innovative companies in the fields of artificial intelligence, space exploration and healthcare.
He is the founder and CEO of PropelSpace Technologies, a space launch startup that aims to provide affordable and reliable access to space for small satellites in Africa. PropelSpace is developing a reusable small launch vehicle that can launch payloads below 400 kg to low Earth orbit.
Co-founder of the Global AI Ethics Conference, with the focus to ensure that advance AI is developed responsibly (@global_ai_ethic on X).
Additionally, he is the co-founder of Genodes Solutions Inc, a biotech startup, using machine learning models to predict protein structure and function. Genodes aims to accelerate the discovery of new drugs by providing accurate and fast predictions of protein properties.
Besides his entrepreneurial ventures, Allen is also involved in several AI projects in different industries, such as healthcare, education and entertainment. He has created an AI time travel application called TimeGPT(@timegpt on X), which give users the experience of going back or forward in time and interacting with those who live before us and those who live after us, using LLM, just for the fun of it.
Allen is an active contributor to the open source AI community. He has a GitHub account where he shares some of his projects and codes. He is also a frequent speaker and mentor at various AI events and workshops.
