Biography:

Engr. Olushola Aina exemplifies leadership in the field of
Electrical Engineering within the energy and utilities sector,
blending technical excellence and strategic leadership with
a commitment to people, climate, and sustainability.
Educated across three continents, he holds an MBA from IE
Business School, a Master of Advanced Management from
Yale, Masters and Bachelor degrees in engineering from the
University of Benin and the University of Ilorin, respectively,
along with several other trainings and certifications globally.
At Shell, Olushola's trajectory has been nothing short of
stellar. As the RE Utilities Manager, he pioneered strategies,
projects and initiatives that minimized operational
disruptions, cost, emissions, and improved efficiency, while
managing a cross-functional team across various locations to provide critical utilities to Shell sites
in Nigeria. His expertise was pivotal in crafting the Net-Zero and Sustainability Roadmap,
demonstrating his function’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and enhancing
environmental stewardship.
Olushola’s operational acumen was evident as Manager of Power Generation and HV Systems,
where he led initiatives that increased equipment availability from 63% to an unprecedented
100%, showcasing his skill in optimizing operations. His leadership as PMO Lead in logistics
transformation resulted in substantial savings, and his roles as a risk focal point for the business
and owner of the electrical competency management framework are testament to his
multitasking ability, corporate loyalty, financial acumen, project management skills, and
commitment to teaching, mentoring, and professional development. He is also a safety leader
with a record of zero LTIs at his sites, known for managing some of the cleanest sites and having
a keen interest in staff development, welfare, and working conditions.
His prior roles at Citigroup and Panalpina World Transport gave Olushola an in-depth
understanding of customer service excellence and logistics efficiency, leading to significant
reductions in service times and improvements in banking and shipping operations.
Beyond the corporate sphere, Olushola is a tech enthusiast, an angel investor with a discerning
eye for innovation, and an Earthwatch Ambassador dedicated to advocating for a sustainable
planet. His technical proficiency is further evidenced by his PMP, FMP, and CMRP certifications,
and his recent induction into the Fellowship cadre of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
Engr. Olushola Aina is happily married with two children. He balances his demanding professional
life with a passion for golf and hiking, finding tranquility in both activities. His dedication to
mentoring shines a light on his belief in empowering the next generation of leaders, creating a
legacy that extends beyond his personal achievements.
