Ham Radio Workshop: Unlocking the doors of Knowledge

IEEE SB GEC along with GRAS (Goa Radio Amateurs' Society) conducted a HAM RADIO WORKSHOP for the engineering students from various branch. Followed by a small talk on the topic Sub-Nyquist sampling conducted by Dr. Usham Dias (IIT Delhi). 

The workshop aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of amateur radio operation, covering fundamental principles, practical skills, and fostering a community of radio enthusiasts. Some of the  topics covered in the workshop were Nyquist Sampling , Autocorrelation and convolution, spectral analysis, antenna array, Sub Nyquist SWL activities and many more. 


The Ham Radio Workshop had a wide range of takeaways, from the basics of HAM radio operation to advanced techniques such as antenna design and propagation. Beginners found the introductory sections helpful, but some more experienced operators felt that certain advanced topics could have been explored in greater detail. 
The presenter did an excellent job of explaining complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible manner. Visual aids, including slides and live demonstrations, effectively reinforced key points and kept the audience engaged.
There were ample opportunities for participants to ask questions and engage in discussions throughout the seminar. Hands-on activities, such as setting up a makeshift antenna, were particularly well-received and added a practical dimension to the learning experience.
The presenter's enthusiasm for the subject matter was infectious, and they did an excellent job of keeping the audience engaged throughout the seminar. Interactive elements and real-life anecdotes helped maintain interest and excitement.
