A General Awareness on Cables
A captivating guest lecture was held at FOE 7-2, which enhanced the understanding of the critical role cabling plays in our modern connected world.
With deep gratitude to Deputy General Manager of ACL Cables, Mr. Palitha Ethulgama, an industrial expert with 20 years of experience in the cable industry, he is a seasoned professional whose journey has been marked by excellence and leadership. His journey includes stints as a Production Manager, Plant Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, Sales and Marketing Manager. Holding a Master's in Science for Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Greenwich (UK), along with Post Graduate Diplomas in Quality Management, Sales & Marketing Management, and Mechanical Engineering, he combines practical experience with a solid academic foundation. In addition to his extensive career and educational background, he has generously shared his knowledge as a visiting lecturer, trainer, and a mentor.
We were able to get invaluable insights about cable industry and an informative picture on cables which is really helpful in the electrical engineering industry.
The guest lecture commenced at 9.00 AM and was attended by all lecturers in the department of electrical, electronic and telecommunication engineering at KDU with Prof. JR Lucas and Prof. JP Karunadasa and all the academic staff of the department along with the Head of the Department, Captain WPC Weerawardane USP and Captain SU Dampage. Further, all undergraduates from intake 39 and 40 were attended.
