IEEE STEM Champion and IEEE Smart Village volunteer, Mistura Muibi-Tijani, through her organization, VertSTEM, organized a Climate Action Training to commemorate the World Earth Day. The event was held at Lagos state, Nigeria.
The program was designed to increase awareness of SDG 13 and enlighten the kids on the roles renewable energy can play in reversing climate change. The event also serves as an avenue to stimulate the interest of kids in STEM leveraging IEEE TryEngineering resources.
The students gained practical knowledge on how to generate electricity from the sun using the Snap Circuit kits. The kids' reception and feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
