Aviva Carmen is currently a senior consultant for Project Server at Microsoft. She is with Microsoft for nearly 10 years. She spoke at several TechReady events. She is a mother of 7, a grandmother and great grandmother, thriving the 45+ years in tech's ups & downs. She will share her unique life story that she is sticking with.

Aviva Carmen, Senior Microsoft Consultant

Biography:

Aviva Carmen has been a Senior Consultant at Microsoft for 10 years, in Portfolio, Program and Project Management. She has led major programs at Fortune 100 companies, including a $40 million website rewrite (15 million hits/day), a $1 billion data center build and move, and a $1 billion program to move 450,000 employees to Microsoft 365. Her expertise is in Microsoft Project Server and Project Online, in implementing PMOs and in making order out of chaos. 

 

Prior to her Microsoft experience, Aviva was a Software Engineer, IT Manager, and held Director positions at several High-Tech Startups in Silicon Valley. 

 

Aviva has a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan (Computer Science and Psychology), and an MBA. She obtained PMP, MCTS and MCP certifications. She has been a popular speaker at TechReady, PMI Dinners, MPUG events, and at Project Virtual Conference. 

 

Aviva is a single Mom for many years and raised 7 children while working fulltime and going to school at night to get her undergrad and grad degrees. She managed to get out of welfare and get into tech.  Attained 3.9 GPA at U of M while raising her children and working full-time. She is now a grandma and great grandma. Her story that she is sticking to inspires many to be resilient and optimistic to achieve greatness in life.
