Event Overview: The three-day bootcamp, organized by the outstanding Women in Engineering (WIE) SUP'COM AG and Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) SUP'COM Chapter, unfolded from April 17th to April 19th. The event featured workshops aimed at empowering participants with valuable insights into Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), transfer learning techniques, and real-world Computer Vision (CV) applications. Led by the esteemed Imen Masmoudi, each workshop provided a deep dive into the intricacies of modern machine learning approaches.

Workshops Schedule:

  1. Workshop 1: "Building a CNN Model from Scratch"

    • Date: April 17th, 8:00 PM
    • Format: Online session
    • Description: Participants delved into the fundamentals of CNNs, learning to construct models from the ground up. Imen Masmoudi expertly guided attendees through the process, offering insights and practical tips for effective implementation.
  2. Workshop 2: "Transfer Learning: Using Pre-Trained Models"

    • Date: April 18th, 8:00 PM
    • Format: Online session
    • Description: Imen Masmoudi led a comprehensive exploration of transfer learning techniques, showcasing how pre-trained models can be leveraged to enhance efficiency and performance in various machine learning tasks. Internal Competition: Following the bootcamp, a one-week internal competition commenced on April 22nd, fostering a dynamic environment for participants to apply their newly acquired knowledge and insights. Running until April 28th at midnight, this competition encouraged participants to demonstrate their proficiency in machine learning and CV through practical challenges and projects.

Conclusion: The 3-day bootcamp, organized by the magnificent WIE SUP'COM AG and GRSS SUP'COM Chapter, and enriched by Imen Masmoudi's expertise, proved to be a transformative learning experience for participants. It equipped them with valuable skills and knowledge in CNNs, transfer learning, and CV applications. The subsequent internal competition provided a platform for participants to showcase their abilities and creativity, further reinforcing the collaborative and innovative spirit of the WIE and GRSS communities at SUP'COM.
