Gala Dinner at the Adelaide Zoo

Special Event at the Adelaide Zoo, Saturday 1 June 2024

Please come along and bring a guest to a special event at the Adelaide Zoo.  The event is being organised by the IEEE SA CAESS committee as a membership event.  We have not had a membership event for a while, so we are trying to make this one memorable. As well as having a meal with other members and guests, seeing the pandas and meeting some of the researchers at the Zoo, the first 50 people to be registered can also go on a guided tour of some of the Zoo’s work into Conservation and Animal Welfare, including technology and enrichment roles.  We recommend you get your tickets early so you can go on the tour, as numbers for the tour are limited.

Tickets are at a subsidised price of $20 for each person.  You can purchase your tickets at:

The event will be on 1 June 2024.

For those going on the tour, meet at the Zoo entrance at 4.00pm for a 4.15pm tour start, and end by 5.30pm.

For those not going on the tour, please arrive by 5.15pm for a 5.30pm start.

Everyone meets at 5.30pm at the Bamboo Forest for a Panda Talk and for pre-dinner drinks.

Then at 6.30pm everyone goes to the Fig Tree restaurant for a 3-course meal, plus a talk on Conservation and Animal Welfare at Zoos SA by animal welfare experts Mark Smith and Justine Partoon, together with A/Prof Alexandra Whittaker.

We expect the event will finish no later than 9.30pm.
