More than 40% of patients with cancer develop brain metastases, and Whole-Brain Radiation Therapy (WBRT) treatment is a well-established treatment for patients with brain metastases by radiologically controlling both visible tumors and invisible micro-metastases. However, conventional WBRT treatment planning is time-consuming. In addition, institutions vary in their clinical approaches to WBRT treatment planning. Furthermore, limited resources in low-to-middle-income countries can lead to delays, especially with regard to human resources. In this work, we developed, evaluated, and deployed a fully automated, muti-approaches, AI-based treatment planning solution for whole-brain radiotherapy (WBRT).
