4-Switch buck-boost converter verification in battery applications
IEEE North Jersey Section Co-Sponsors the TALK: "IP Analysis-the groundbreaking development in network benchmarking"
This webinar is designed for engineers who are involved in the design and testing of power electronics. The focus will be on understanding the theory and practical aspects of verifying a 4-switch buck-boost converter. The webinar will commence with a brief overview of typical applications, such as those found in battery-operated devices, and will cover the key characteristics and evolution of this type of converter. Subsequently, various operating modes and the verification challenges associated with them will be discussed. Using a 4-switch buck-boost development board as a reference, the webinar will demonstrate the verification of switching patterns, switch node analysis, and switch node measurements. Additionally, participants will learn how to model and simulate different battery scenarios to gain deeper insights into their device's performance under critical conditions. Practical examples and demonstrations featuring the new 8-channel oscilloscope R&S®MXO 5 and the DC power supply R&S®NGM200 will illustrate how testing a 4-switch buck-boost converter can be made easy and reliable.

4-Switch buck-boost converter verification in battery applications
This webinar targets engineers engaged in power electronics design and testing, with a specific focus on the theory and application of verifying 4-switch buck-boost converters. The session will commence with an outline of typical applications, notably in battery-operated devices, and will encompass the fundamental characteristics and progression of this converter type. Subsequently, we will delve into the various operational modes and the associated challenges in verification. Using a 4-switch buck-boost development board as a benchmark, the presentation will elucidate the process of verifying switching patterns, analyzing switch nodes, and measuring switch node waveforms. Furthermore, we will explore the modeling and simulation of diverse battery scenarios to gain comprehensive insights into the device's performance under critical conditions. Practical illustrations and demonstrations featuring the new 8-channel oscilloscope R&S®MXO 5 and the DC power supply R&S®NGM200 will exemplify how 4-switch buck-boost converter testing can be rendered facile and dependable.
