Bio: Umer Farooq holds the position of Business Development Manager at Siemens, where his focus is on guiding clients through the journey of decarbonization. He specializes in providing hydrogen solutions tailored for the energy and oil & gas sectors. With an extensive track record spanning over 20 years, Umer has successfully led and executed multi-billion dollar projects across the Americas, the Middle East, and Africa. Currently, he serves as the technical authority for hydrogen solutions at Siemens, overseeing the strategic aspects of these initiatives.

Beyond his technical role, Umer plays a key part in cultivating pre-sales partnerships in the fields of hydrogen and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). He is actively involved in establishing a robust B2B network of partners, with the goal of expediting the adoption of net-zero technologies in challenging sectors such as steel, cement, and petrochemicals across North American markets. Umer has held prominent roles in services, engineering, and commercial functions throughout his career.
