WBG based Transformerless PV Inverter

Biography:

Dr. Jinia Roy is the Thomas A. Lipo Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and serves as the Associate Director of the Wisconsin Electric Machines and Power Electronics Consortium (WEMPEC). Prior to that she was with GE Global Research Center, Power Electronics Group, Niskayuna, NY, USA and National Renewable Energy lab (NREL), Power System Energy Center, Golden, Colorado, USA. She received the bachelor's degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, in 2011, the M.Tech. degree from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, Kanpur, India, in 2013, and the Ph.D. degree from Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ, USA, in 2017, all in electrical engineering. Her research interests include topologies and control methods for switch mode power converters, wide bandgap based power electronic interfaces for applications in pulsed power, renewable energy systems, HVDC, and green hydrogen. She was the recipient of the 2019 IEEE PELS Prize Ph.D. Thesis Talk. She also was the recipient of the IEEE/PEDES’96 Award for the Best Thesis in Power Electronics from IIT Kanpur, 2013 and two Best Paper Presentation Awards by the Technical Organizing Committees of ‘IEEE IECON 2014’ and ‘APEC 2017’.
