Event Report: Hands-on Training Session on Embedded Systems, Renewable Energy Systems, and Electric Vehicle Technology

Organizers:

  • IEEE Students Branch
  • Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College, Puducherry

Date and Time:

  • 16th September 2023
  • 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Venue:
Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College, Puducherry

Objective:
The hands-on training session aimed to equip participants with practical knowledge and skills in three key areas: Embedded Systems, Renewable Energy Systems, and Electric Vehicle Technology. The session was designed to provide an interactive learning experience, allowing participants to engage with the latest technologies and methodologies in these fields.

Event Summary:
The event commenced at 1:00 PM with an inaugural address by the Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The welcome speech highlighted the importance of staying updated with technological advancements and the role of hands-on training in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

Session Breakdown:

  1. Embedded Systems:
The first segment of the training focused on Embedded Systems. Participants were introduced to microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators. Practical exercises included programming microcontrollers and interfacing them with various peripherals. This segment provided a solid foundation for understanding how embedded systems are integral to modern electronic devices.

  2. Renewable Energy Systems:
The second segment explored Renewable Energy Systems, emphasizing solar and wind energy technologies. Participants learned about the design and implementation of renewable energy solutions, including solar panels and wind turbines. Hands-on activities involved setting up small-scale renewable energy systems and measuring their efficiency.

  3. Electric Vehicle Technology:
The final segment covered Electric Vehicle (EV) Technology. The session provided insights into the components and operation of electric vehicles, including batteries, electric motors, and control systems. Participants engaged in activities such as assembling a basic electric vehicle model and understanding the principles behind EV charging infrastructure.
