Biography:

Dr. Sam Maleki is currently working as the Director,T&D Engineering and Consulting atRMS Energy. Prior to joining RMS Energy, he served as the Principal Power System Specialist at Electric Power Engineers (EPE), bringing over 11 years of experience in transient and dynamic power system studies. His expertise includes steady-state and dynamic simulation in the phasor domain and Electro Magnetic Transient (EMT) studies.Dr. Maleki received his PhD from the University of Western Ontario, London, Canada, his master's degree from Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia, and his bachelor's degree from Chamran University, Iran. His main interest is power system studies in EMT software, focusing on power system stability and transient studies. He has conducted numerous studies globally on HVDC, FACTS, SSR studies, TRV, TOV, transformers and lines energization, small signal and transient stability, and stabilizer coordination for large power systems. Currently, at EPE, he works on generator interconnection studies and power system failure forensic analysis. He also leads the automation of complex and time-consuming studies, enabling teams to perform a large number of simulations and optimizations without human supervision.
