This event is to support the upgrade of Central Texas IEEE Members to Senior Membership level.  The event will be led by James Mercier who holds the position of Sr. Membership Chairman for both the Central Texas Section and Region 5.

At this meeting, James and his team will nominate those attending, guide applications to completion, assign Reference Writers, and submit the nomination for the September 28 Sr. Member upgrade panel review.  For this event, applicants will need to bring a laptop or a notebook to work on the application details.  Applicants can start the on-line application but we will take over by nominating there.

Applicants must also download and read the CTS Sr. Member Application Guidance document (Sr.-Mem-Application-Guidance-8.1) to understand what is actually required for the application.  For help in organizing employment and functions information, the R-3 Sr. Member resume template ( R3-Sr. Member Resume Template 1.3) can be downloaded.

Applying to Upgrade to Senior Member

Are you qualified for upgrade to IEEE Senior Member?  If you have been in professional practice as an engineering designer, researcher, instructor, or consultant for 10 years or more, you probably are.  Then, if you can document at least 60-months worth of Significant Performance during that 10 or more years, you are!  Actually, more IEEE members are qualified than they believe themselves to be because college can count for up to 5-years of Professional Experience.

The Central Texas Section (CTS) is hosting an event that will remove the mystery of what is required for Professional Experience and Significant Performance.  CTS will even take care of the required Reference Writers for you.

The schedule is to meet at the Balcones Country Club starting at 6:00.  As you come in the main entrance, look for the IEEE banner or tell the concierge you are here for the Sr. Member event.  Dinner at 7:00 while we work will be a buffet serving of:  Chicken Cordon Bleu w/ rice pilaf and fire roasted vegetables, or Grilled Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Asparagus over steamed rice, roasted Tomato, and sauteed Spinach.  The cost of the meal will be covered by CTS. However, we are requiring all applicants to pay a $15 administrative fee via vTools. VTools registration is required to attend.  Desert will be Lemon Sorbet.
