Continued progress in the semiconductor industry requires ever-smaller transistors. However the electrical resistance of silicon increases rapidly as dimensions shrink below 3nm. Hence there has been enormous interest in two-dimensional semiconductors, which can have acceptable resistance at thicknesses down to just a single layer of atoms. 2D semiconductors also allow for new functions and new applications.
This seminar will give an overview of the status and possible future developments in 2D semiconductors in nanoelectronics and nanomaterial applications. Please join us for this in-person lunchtime seminar with Prof Jeongwon Park at Covalent Metrology in Sunnyvale.
