Are you curious about how nuclear power plants operate? Interested in seeing firsthand where 13% of Switzerland’s electricity is produced? The IEEE Young Professionals Swiss Affinity Group invites you to an exclusive and free guided tour of the Gösgen-Däniken AG Nuclear Power Plant.

What to expect:

  • Interactive exhibition: Begin your visit in the new exhibition space, where you will learn the fundamentals of nuclear power through engaging models and videos. Discover how uranium cores are split, how heat is generated, and how this energy drives the generator.
  • Factory tour: Take a behind-the-scenes look at the plant’s command room, the "cockpit" where operations are controlled. Experience the powerful hum of the turbines in the machine house and feel the air being drawn into the towering 150-meter-high cooling tower.

This is a unique opportunity to explore a key piece of Switzerland’s energy infrastructure, gain insights into nuclear energy production, and ask questions from knowledgeable guides.

Who can attend: This visit is open to professionals and students, who are eager to discover the fascinating world of nuclear energy (IEEE members only). The minimum age for our guided tours is 12 years.

How to register: Spaces are limited (10 in total), so please register early to secure your spot.

Registration deadline: 01/10/2024
