Defending Against DDos Attacks On the Cloud

In this session, we will address the current threat landscape, present DDoS attacks that we have seen on the cloud, and discuss the
methods and technologies we use to protect cloud services. 

You will
leave this session with a better unerstanding of:
o DDoS attacks on the cloud as well as the actual threats and volumes that we typically see.
o What AWS does to protect our services from these attacks.
o How this all relates to the AWS Shared Responsiblity Model.

Biography:

Huy Huynh is currently a Senior Solution Architect from Amazon Web Services. His primary role is working with AWS strategic customers to build security, analytic, and web applications on the cloud.

 

Prior to AWS, Huy was a Principal Engineer at Kaiser Permanente where he leds projects to re-think ambulatory care. Some of his works you might have seen as a Kaiser Permanente member are in-home glucose monitoring, video visits and video consultation, and appointment scheduling.

 

Huy obtained a Bachelor of Science. in Computational Engineering Science, and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Asif is Solutions Architect  helping customers architect their solutions using AWS. He specializes in Containers and Security. He had helped architect large scale application deployments across customer segments. He has held various development and architecture position in the last 12 years at SAP, Salesforce, and AWS.
