Dr. Baljit Singh Khehra

Biography:

Presently, Dr. Baljit Singh Khehra is working as Professor (Computer Science) at Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGND PSOU) Patiala, Punjab, India. He is also working as Registrar, Director, Learner Support Centres; Head, School of Sciences & Emerging Technologies and Associate Dean Academic Affairs at JGND PSOU, Patiala. He worked as Principal at BAM Khalsa College, Garhshankar, Hoshiarpur (Punjab Govt. Aided College, affiliated with Panjab University, Chandigarh), Punjab, India. He has worked as a Professor in Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab, India in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. He worked as head of department from 1st Sept 2015 to 7th Aug 2019. B. Tech (CSE) Programme has got award of accreditation by NBA in June 2017 under his leadership. He has also worked as visiting professor and short-term research scholar in the department of Mathematics & Computer Science, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Princess Anne, Maryland, USA. He is leading national and international research in the areas of digital Image Processing and Soft Computing. Dr. Khehra obtained his BE degree in Computer Engineering in 1998 with first class from Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, Punjab, India and M. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering in 2005 with first division from Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab, India. In 2014, he obtained his Ph.D. degree from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology Deemed to be University (Established by Govt. of India), Longowal, Sangrur, Punjab, India. He has more than 110 publications, including Journals (SCI, SCOPUS and other refereed) book chapters and conference papers. His Google Scholar Citation index is 983. He guided and guiding PG and Doctorate students. He is a reviewer of various journals. He presented research papers and chaired technical sessions in various national and international Conferences. He attended and organized various Conferences, FDPs, Short Term Courses and Workshop. He is senior member of IEEE, fellow of IE (I), senior member of ACM, life member of CSI, ISTE, and IETE. He has also worked as Honorary Secretary, The Institution of Engineers, India, Punjab & Chandigarh State Centre, CHD.
