IEEE Orientation-Syncrotride
- Introduction
The IEEE JUIT Student Branch hosted its orientation session under the theme "Synchrostride" to
welcome new members and provide them with an overview of the branch's activities, structure,
and opportunities for the academic year 2024-2025. The session aimed to introduce the students
to the benefits of being part of IEEE, covering the various technical and non-technical domains
they can explore.
2. Overview of IEEE
IEEE, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, is the world’s largest technical
professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for humanity. With over 435,000
members in more than 160 countries, IEEE plays a crucial role in fostering innovation and
professional growth.
● IEEE Region 10: Includes 57 Sections, 6 Councils, 17 Sub-sections, 515 Chapters, 60
Affinity Groups, and 958 Student Branches.
● Delhi Section: One of the 12 Sections in India, part of the Asia-Pacific Region.
3. Branch Structure
Within the IEEE JUIT Student Branch, there are specialized groups that cater to different
interests:
● IEEE SIGHT JUIT: Focused on Humanitarian Technology.
● IEEE WIE JUIT: Dedicated to promoting women engineers and scientists, and inspiring
girls to pursue careers in engineering and science.
