In the context of this important rapidly developing Clinical IoT industry, the IEEE 2933 Working Group has been selected as a recipient of the IEEE SA Emerging Technology Award “For the development of IEEE 2933-2024, IEEE Standard for Clinical Internet of Things (IoT) Data and Device Interoperability with TIPPSS - Trust, Identity, Privacy, Protection, Safety, Security.” The IEEE SA Emerging Technology Award is awarded for the initiation, advancement or progression of a new technology through the IEEE SA open consensus process.

Florence Hudson

Biography:

Florence Hudson is Executive Director for the Northeast Big Data Innovation Hub, COVID Information Commons and Prototype Open Knowledge Network projects at Columbia University funded by the US National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration. She is Founder and CEO of FDHint, LLC, a global advanced technology and diversity & inclusion consulting firm. She Chairs the IEEE Clinical Internet of Things Data and Device Interoperability with TIPPSS (Trust, Identity, Privacy, Protection, Safety and Security) working group, and is on the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Standards Committee.  She is a former IBM Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Internet2 Senior Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer, Special Advisor at  the NSF Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, and aerospace engineer at the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab and Grumman Aerospace Corporation. She has served on NASDAQ listed company, industry, academia and nonprofit boards. She is a globally renowned speaker, author, editor, board director and trustee. She earned her Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering degree from Princeton University, and executive education certificates from Harvard Business School and Columbia University. 

William C. Harding, PhD

Biography:

William C. B. Harding is a Professor and Distinguished Technical Fellow - Emeritus with more than 40 years of industry experience, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a Master of Information Systems Degree, and a Ph.D. in Integrating Technology. William has had a very successful career in Electrical Engineering (EE), Information Technology (IT), and Biomedical Engineering. William has also initiated and championed innovative manufacturing solutions and patented biomedical and cybersecurity technologies that continue to have major impacts in the areas of improved patient outcomes, process improvement, manufacturing automation, product development/traceability, and FDA validation. William’s professional career spans environments such as missile testing/tracking (i.e., Eastern & Pacific Missile Test Centers), drug interdiction (U.S. Customs), rechargeable battery manufacturing (Energizer), and medical device design/manufacturing (Medtronic). With more than 90 technical conferences, symposium presentations, lectures, seminars, published academic books, and technical papers under his belt, William continues to establish the highest level of standards through his mentoring and guidance that emphasizes his collaborative and innovative vision.
