Interested in knowing how to go from idea to chip?  In this beginning workshop, led by extraordinary leader in semiconductors,  Matt Venn (TinyTapeout), learn how to design your own chip.  If designing a chip seemed elusive, this is THE workshop that will show a clear path for getting it done.  This is expected to be one of the largest gathering of new chip designers, so register soon!

Tiny Tapeout is a great way to teach digital design and get real chips back. Students get hands-on experience with building their own application-specific integrated circuits and taking them all the way through to production - with the goal of holding a fully-packaged and ready-to-use chip in their hand at the end of the process.

WHERE: San Diego Marriott, 4240 La Jolla Village Drive, La Jolla, CA 92037.  Parking validations available.  Limited room block discount available for out of town guests.

WHEN: 8:15 AM - 1:30 PM     Doors open at 8:15 AM.  Workshop will start at 9:00 AM sharp.

SPONSORS:  Tiny Tapeout, UCSD, IEEE Region 6

REGISTRATION:   Lunch and your own "Tiny Tapeout" Slot will be provided to every attendee.  Event is in-person only.  Use Discount Code # IEEEREGION6 for an additional discount ($20 off).

Who should attend?   Whether you are in high school, university or looking to get into or refresh skills in the semiconductor industry, this beginning workshop will take your chip designs to another level.  All are welcome, but below are some suggestions:

  • Middle or high school students - want to know more about the field of semiconductors?  This will be a great introduction.
  • Teachers - learn the steps to design and tapeout a chip to enhance your curriculum
  • Industry - want to level up and learn the steps in chip design? Join us.
  • University students - been studying engineering for awhile but never taped out a chip?  Now's your chance.

Hope to see you there!  Click on the registration link to join us - pre-registration is required.

Additional Info -  Check out the links below.  The links have some videos and some basic knowledge of chip design that would be helpful to get the most benefit from the workshop.
