The Society for Data Science (S4DS) KJSIT Students Chapter, in
association with the IEEE Joint Chapter and System Council, Pune, hosted an insightful webinar
titled "Grand Unified Theory of Data Science & AI/ML – Applications to Banking." The session
featured the esteemed speaker, Prof. Dr. Vadlamani Ravi, from the Institute for Development
and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT), Hyderabad.
Dr. Ravi, a renowned expert in data science and artificial intelligence, shared his extensive
knowledge spanning over 36 years of experience in research and teaching. He touched upon
cutting-edge topics like Fraud Detection, Explainable AI, Adversarial ML, Reinforcement
Learning, and Privacy-Preserving ML, all of which are pivotal for banking and financial
industries.
The webinar emphasized practical applications of AI and ML in banking, with Dr. Ravi
discussing real-world implementations. His prolific academic contributions, with over 275
publications and collaborations with global institutions, added significant weight to the session,
offering students and professionals valuable insights into AI and data science’s transformative
power in the financial sector.
The event, moderated by Namitha Prakash, was well-received by participants over 500+
registrations, who gained a deeper understanding of how AI/ML models are influencing the
banking landscape.
