INNOVATIONS TOWARDS DIGITAL AND COMPUTER EVOLUTION
The challenging issues in today’s scenario is what is the requirement for ability to use memory, knowledge, experience, understanding, reasoning, imagination and Judgement required to utilize AI Computational intelligence, Machine intelligence and Machine Learning in solving Engineering and Technology applications in all emerging areas. This talk on the occasion of IEEE day will help to understand Need for AI, Computational Intelligence, Machine Learning and Soft Computing techniques.
Biography:
M.P.S. Chawla, a distinguished academician and researcher, is currently serving as the Treasurer of the IEEE Madhya Pradesh (MP) Section since January 26, 2022. He holds the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at G.S. Institute of Technology & Science (SGSITS), Indore, India. With over 36 years of teaching experience, Prof. Chawla has significantly contributed to both undergraduate and postgraduate education.
Prof. Chawla's educational background includes a B.E. in Electrical Engineering and an M.E. in Power Electronics, for which he received Gold Medals. His expertise spans across a range of specializations including Signal Processing, Image Processing, Intelligent Instrumentation, Soft Computing, and Hybrid & Smart Grid Systems. He has published over 89 conference papers and 19 international journal articles in reputable journals such as Elsevier, Springer, and Taylor & Francis.
Throughout his career, Prof. Chawla has held several prominent positions, including:
- PG Coordinator at SGSITS Indore (January 3, 2022, to July 18, 2023)
- Head of Biomedical Engineering at SGSITS Indore (2009–2013)
- Library Head at SGSITS Indore (August 1, 2013, to January 18, 2022)
- Public Relation Officer of SGSITS Indore (2011–2013 and 2013–2017)
- Vice Chairman and Secretary of the IEEE MP Sub-Section under IEEE Bombay Chapter
Prof. Chawla has been actively involved in organizing and chairing international conferences, such as serving as the General Chair for the CSNT2022 IEEE Explore Conference and the Conference Chair for ICACAT-2018. He has served as an editorial board member and reviewer for several prestigious journals, including IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, and Wiley.
In recognition of his dedication to academia and research, Prof. Chawla remains a member of esteemed professional societies, including IEEE, the Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE), and the System Society of India (SYSI). His ongoing mission is to continue contributing to the field of education, sharing research ideas globally, and nurturing the next generation of scholars.
