The IEEE Day celebration at Carmel College of Engineering and Technology was held on the first Tuesday of October, 1/10/24 commemorating the global celebration of the IEEE community’s achievements and advancements in technology. The event brought together students, faculty, and IEEE members for an insightful and enjoyable experience.

The program began with a welcome speech delivered by Aiswarya S,secretary of the IEEE Student Branch, who highlighted the significance of IEEE Day and the importance of technology in shaping the future.

Following the welcome speech, Dr. Sarath KS, our esteemed Head of Department (HOD) and a senior IEEE member, delivered a brief yet impactful speech. He emphasized the vital role IEEE plays in fostering innovation and collaboration within the engineering community and encouraged students to actively participate in IEEE activities.

Our IEEE Student Branch Counselor, Prof. Vishnu S, then took the stage to give an engaging presentation on the numerous benefits of IEEE membership. His talk covered the professional growth opportunities, networking advantages, access to technical resources, and platforms for students to showcase their talents and ideas globally. The audience appreciated the insights into how IEEE could help shape their academic and professional journeys.

A seminar presentation was conducted by PES Chairman Anupama S, where she guided participants on how to create and effectively use an IEEE email. Her presentation covered the steps for creating the email, the associated benefits of having an IEEE-branded email, and how it enhances the professional identity of IEEE members.

We also had a IEEE Day wishes from our founder chair, Mr. Rohit S Varier through a video message.

To mark the celebration, a small cake-cutting ceremony was held, adding a festive touch to the event. Faculty members, students, and IEEE members gathered to share in the camaraderie and reflect on the achievements of the global IEEE community.

The celebration concluded with a group photo session, capturing the lively atmosphere and the spirit of togetherness. Attendees were enthusiastic about participating in the event and expressed their excitement for future IEEE activities.
