Tech Challenge at TechGirlz 2024

TechGirlz is a FREE, one-day career discovery day for middle school girls. The event is entirely run by volunteers with real careers in STEM. Part of the program is Tech Challenge, a design thinking workshop led by Perry Lea, the educational activities chair of our IEEE-Boise section. In this workshop, the 400 attendees divided into teams of ten to learn about and apply design thinking to a real-world problem.

Other members of the IEEE section are volunteering ats general volunteers. General volunteers are floaters throughout the day, assisting the girls with whatever they may need, and providing mentorship during the Tech Challenge.
